Jewellery Challenge and Farbic Swap

Even though I have not been making much jewellery lately I read the jewellery thread onMoney Saving Expert (MSE) every day to keep up with all the lovely creations on there. Last weekend it was decided to hold the first jewellery challenge and I had to take part, the challenge was to create a memory wire bracelet and the theme was ‘LOVE’.

This is my interpretation, it has amethyst and pink glass, bicones and pearls with silver plated roses and hearts and spacers. The bracelet is more purple in real life, these photos make the colours appear deep red.

Purple is my favourite colour and for me it is the colour of love, romance, spirituality and sensuality, and of course I had to add hearts and roses.

Just wanted to add, I have signed up for another blog swap organied by the lovely Tina. I have been paired up with 23rd Spiral for the latest Fabric Swap and I am already excited. The idea originated on the Sewing Thread of Money Saving Expert and hence the swap is intended to be a bit money saving. The idea is to send items that have been recycled in some way which is mainly what I work with. I am really looking forward to this, thanks Tina!

Right, back to the sewing machine for me…

Oh Kandi, such a gorgeous creation and I adore the frame you've displayed it in. It's probably just as well I can't master jewellery making I've got far too much as it is!

Amanda - MSE has threads about EVERYTHING!

I love the bracelet, such a fab mix of colour and different types of beads. Where do you start with something like that? Is it a a case of planning it out in advance or just crack on with it and see how it turns out?

Love the bracelet. I have used memory wire for a bracelet and found it graet to work with, so simple!

Alex I plan it all out on a bead board first then add the beads on. If you just go for it sometimes you get clumps of stuff and it's annoying to have to take it apart again. I am quite a faff and like it to be ordered (however random it may look :) ).
