I just want a bath...

Well, it's been three days without a bath or a shower in my house and I'm about fed up now.  The installation of my bathroom has coincided with me being a little bit poorly with 'womens problems' and following a minor procedure all I wanted to do was have a nice long soak in the bath and take to my bed with a hot water bottle, however my bathroom looks a bit like this...

My bathroom guy has promised that I will have a bath installed at some point today and I just can't wait to get in my own bath for a nice long soak. This is my current bathroom procedure

sigh...

It is getting there slowly...

Hopefully in a week or so I will have a bathroom I can relax in and I will have the longest soak ever!

Remembrance Poppy Brooch ~ Charity Appeal

Every year at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month we remember the end of the First World War and all who gave their lives then and since.

This year I have made crochet poppies to raise funds for the Royal British Legion remembrance poppy appeal (Poppy Day or Armistice Day) a cause close to my heart.
The full cost (including postage) will be donated to the Royal British Legion. The materials, my time, packaging and postage costs will be my contribution.
Each brooch measures approx 75mm and is finished with a black button and a 30mm brooch bar pin.
(The pattern used is copyright of http://www.wendy-poole.co.uk/page1.php Fundraiser Poppy)
If you would like to buy a poppy and support a fabulous cause, please pop over to my folksy shop to snaffle one up!  The poppies cost £4.50 with £1.50 postage (I have resurrected my Folksy shop for a limited time only).

THE EXHORTATION

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
When you go home tell them of us and say -For your tomorrow we gave our today

Pretty Crafty Home

Well I have been working and doing a bit of decorating preparation these last few weekends which is not leaving much time for crafting.
I was however fortunate enough to spill a jar of buttons and had a little idea...

A new lampshade.
I had seen a button lampshade on Pinterest a while ago and was quite taken with it, but I had this shade going spare from an old table lamp so I sat and glued buttons to it with fabric glue.

I had intended to cover it entirely but I got this far and was quite happy with it.
It now takes pride of place in my lounge and is adding to my pretty crafty home.
My husband warned the kids that if they sit still for long enough I would stick buttons to them.

In other news I have built up my Christmas stash with a little fabric purchase from The Fat Quarters and have a couple of Christmas makes in mind.

Oooh not long now, anyone else getting excited for Christmas or am I just insane?
Yeah, it's ok, I know I'm insane.

A six month project

This make was just recently completed and frames, but I bought the kit in March from the Historical Sampler Company, with my friend's baby in mind. I had it professionally framed (I opted for no glass).

This has been a pick up and put down project, it's not something I could work full time on.
   Teddies and rocking horses...
Ark and Duckies...
Sophie's details with little bullion roses.

Well like a little swot on the first day of the month I'm gonna pop in and submit this as my October Monthly Make.

I know, it's a little bit of a cheat as I've obviously not made this today it has taken me 6 month on and off to complete.

This month my lovely Annie's Monthly Make is being hosted by Joy at Perfect Little World, the Flickr group is now up and running so pop over HERE and join in if you fancy it, there is always loads of great inspiration there.
