Felty Brooch Makes

I'm just gonna sneak in here and get my May Monthly Makes in on the last day of the month!

I've been doing a bit of hand sewing this week or so and that included these little pretties.  I have a thing for brooches, and as soon as I made these I added the trusty brooch backs to them.

Using felt in what I would describe as 'Ice Cream' colours these just made me smile.

I have given these ones all away now, I meant to keep one for myself, I'll have to get the felt back out.

Another little make was this bunting and cushion.  A friend at work asked about how best to make bunting so I offered my services.  It was a pleasure making pretty pink stuff for a little girl's bedroom with four boys it's something I've never had the chance to do.

I was given the fabric left over from the bedroom curtains and I made this double sided bunting.

Everywhere looks better with bunting I think!

The way I cut the fabric to try to get a decent pattern on each flag didn't leave much fabric but I was able to salvage some squares so I made a patchwork cushion to match.

As I am cushion mad I will enter this as my May Monthly Make.

Bank Holiday Discount & Knitted Bracelet Anyone?

I found some lovely knitting pattern books at the charity shop this weekend.

Some of the 'must makes'

I will be knitting this sometime, a country cottage bag!
These books had lots of lovely ideas and patterns in and itching to make something I jumped in and knitted this little bracelet, or 'Artisan Cuff' as it was referred to in the book:

Lots of cable and little needles = time consuming, but I enjoyed making it.  I changed the pattern as I thought it would be a right faff to have to fasten cords each time you wear it, so I extended the pattern a bit to make it longer and added a crochet loop and button fastening.  Made in super soft baby cashmere dk.

I added little shell buttons to the cable spaces to finish it off.

I can see more of these coming on, I want to try a few different colours and button/bead combinations.

As we are on the cusp of another wonderful Bank Holiday Weekend ~ I want to spread the Bank Holiday Love and as such I'm offering a
in my little Folksy Shop from now until midnight on Monday.

You don't have to do anything at all, each and every purchase (including the postage cost) will be refunded 15% through Paypal ~ as folsky does not allow for discount codes.

If you were thinking of snaffling anything up, now might be a good time.

Little Vintage Linen Revamp and Gifts

I found the sweetest embriodered cloth at the boot sale a few weeks ago and snaffled it up for pennies!

When I got it home and gently hand washed it I found it was a bit ravaged right in the middle, so I took the scissors to it.  I salvaged three of the four corners and turned them into little stuffed lavender hearts.

I think these will hang next to my bed to see me off into dreamland.

I love making stuff from otherwise useless stuff ~ many a mortal would have chucked that cloth, that makes me smile.

This last week or so I have been making buttony stuff as I took part in Lemonade Kitty's Button Swap.

I really enjoyed making for this one as I love buttons.  I was paired with a lovely lady Maria of Dinky Dots .  This was Maria's first ever Blog swap and she was a bit unsure as to do so we agreed I would make and post my stuff off first to give her an idea of the sort of things we send to each other.

I really enjoyed making for Maria as our tastes differ, it is good to come out of your comfort zone sometimes. The hardest thing about this swap was giving away a bag of chocolate buttons ;0)

Maria has blogged about it here, pop over and have a look she makes some fab stuff.

Yesterday I got a lovely gift from a kind lady who follows my blog, Chrissie aka Ziggy2407.

The softest pink notebook and matching pen with the most adorable necklace

Isn't it adorable, and it's just the perfect length for me too.  I was wearing this all day yesterday and whilst eating my dinner a garden pea escaped my fork skimmed the boobage and popped right into this cage.  I spent a good few minutes shaking it out :)

Thanks very much lovely lady x

p.s. Still planning my giveaway ~ will be back with it soon.
