Happy New Phone and an Easter Swap

First off, have you seen the Easter Swap that our lovely Lynda is organising over at Hookin' with LaaLaa?

I was a bit reluctant to join the Spring Swaps as I just didn't have the time but I am keen to join this one, I do enjoy Easter (might be something to do with the Chocolate)!

If you fancy joining in the fun, pop over and sign up with Lynda ~ open until Sunday 20th March.

On a totally unrelated matter; after many years of hand me down mobile telephones I have been dragged into the 21st century and got myself a shiny new phone.

Not sure how I ever lived without it, it's my constant companion now and as soon as I ordered it I set to looking for a lovely cover to keep it nice.

I did have my heart set on
this one from Cath Kidston; but the very poor reviews put me off, that and the £25 cost for a 5 inch piece of pretty plastic...

... so I made one.

I did get out my Cath Fabric but all the prints were too large to make a little cover so I found these fat quarters that I bought last year and knocked one up. I chose a dark colour as I just know it will get filthy quite quickly in the deep dark depths of my massive handbag.

It's my one of a kind iPhone4 shabby roses cover and I love it.

I'm still busy with the crochet cushions, only I have been sidetracked. Looking on Amazon for screen protectors for my new phone this pretty book turned my head, and I'm never one to pass up a pretty book so I snaffled it up!
100 flowers to knit & crochet
by Lesley Stanfield

I just couldn't wait to get making little flowers, only I had underestimated just how long some of them can take; I made two tiny flowers in one night. I must put this away and crack on with my WIP first but little knitted flowers are just so sweet, I'll show you them soon.

Ooh lovely case Kandi - sooo special 'cos it's a one-off! Well done on your new wizzy technology - I keep resisting sticking to my old faithful, but the battery keeps getting low really quickly so it might be time for a change. Mr S has one and raves about it - but I keep saying do I REALLY need it?!! I am weakening slightly....is it really good? xx

I would love to get a fancy new phone, but I know if I did I would never ever put it down and nothing else would ever get done.

Lovely case honey! You were right not to get the CK case, they're pants! I got one for my iTouch and took it back as it broke the first time I attached it. Rubbish! Your;s is so much nicer. xxx

My phone's battery keeps going flat but mobile phone shops are as intimidating as sports outlets. I love the cover but that technology would scare me rigid. xxx

Ooh I got my iPhone 4 today too, cue much excitement! I love your cover, I made one similar (but more masculine!) for my Dad's phone but I'm so scared of this getting scratched that I'm going to take the risk on the CK cases xx

Ooh look at your snazzy phone! And that case is brilliant - so much better than the CK which everyone will have! :)

I am a huge fan of my iphone. I honestly never thought I'd find it as useful as I do but it's just so clever and useful.

Re screen protectors, I use Phone Devil ones from Amazon. They are pricier than the cheapo ones but they last a good 6 months each and you get free sweets in the packaging! Always a winner with me...

The phone cover you made is lovely and original, no-one else will ever have one the same. I love CK but do think sometimes the prices are very pricey.
Screen protectors I buy for G's Iphone off ebay you get 10 for a couple of quid.

Your phone case is gorgeous! One of a kind. Cath Kidston stuff is so overpriced...
I also have that book and it took me ages to make the flowers, but I thought I was just slow so glad to hear you didn't whip them up in 5 minutes!

Congrats on the new phone, I love the case. I have that crochet book, and know exactly what you mean, it sidetracks you in the worst way sometimes lol x

I love the case you have made for your phone :) it nice to have the C.K. one's but even nicer to have your own one off original :)
I try to keep off Amazon as I will buy every craft book they do lol but I can't wait to see your crochet flowers :)

I haven't ever got round to putting a screen guard on my iphobne, i have one of the hard plastic cases round the outside / back of it, but the screen has managed to stay relatively scratch-free over the last 18motnhs..
i kinda think it is useful, i only got it as my dad had an upgrade and didn't like it as he couldn't use it..

Hi Kandi, re the stamps they prob wont stick to wood do you have an acrylic block??? poss not - if not, without having to buy one you could try using a cd case they are reusable so stick the image you want to something like that, stamp your image clean the stamp and peel it back off pop it back in the pack for next time - hope that helps:-) Ali
