Armistice Day (also known as Remembrance Day) is on November 11 and commemorates the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compiègne, France, for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front, which took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning—the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918.
Every year at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month we remember the end of the First World War and all who gave their lives then and since.
Thank you so much for supporting the poppy appeal this year. I sold out of poppies very quickly and was making them to order as fast as I could.
I had so many lovely messages and several repeat orders, next year I will be better prepared!
Again, many thanks, with your generosity I was able to raise £231 for the Royal British Legion which I have paid to them this morning.
You can still donate directly here.
THE EXHORTATION
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
When you go home tell them of us and say -For your tomorrow we gave our today
~ ♥ LEST WE FORGET ♥ ~
