Hi honey I'm home!

Hi guys I'm back.

I've been living on the fringes of blogging for a few weeks now, but I'm back!  Been a strange few weeks, with some family problems, some health problems and work getting in the way of my blogging.
The lovely weather we have had has been dragging us out of the house a lot more than usual and we have spent many happy hours here, 5 mins from home:

The kids just don't want to leave...

 Two happy boys!

I have been busy making stuff, mainly making hexies and putting kits together for sale and making candles and melts.  I have been making fun stuff too, but I am in the midst of three swaps and I've got two birthday swaps in the next couple of weeks, so the things I have been making I can't really show yet, here is a little taster;

Little felty makes...
Little knitted cotton makes...

Fabric swap goodies almost complete to send to Australia...

How are you getting on with your swaps, has everyone been in touch?

I bought this last week from The Book Club,

I've always been a little scared of quilting but I was really drawn to this, it's more little projects to make than full on big quilts.

Hexie, book cover ~ eek!  I have to make one of these!

A delightful cushion, this is next on my list.  It's not as hard as it looks, it's only 9 different squares of fabric cut in varying ways, I've got a lovely pile of Cath Kidston cotton just screaming out for this cushion project.

And look what I found at the boot sale last week, I love old tins, and I love nursery rhymes, this was just right up my street...

Now before I shoot off to catch up on your blogs, have you bought this yet?  It's the Simply Homemade magazine.  I quite like it as it has lots of different crafts in there, and as my interests vary so widely there is always something in there I like.
I bought a spare copy for someone who would like to give it a go.  If you would like a chance to win this please metion 'FREE MAGAZINE' in your comment and I'll add you into the hat.  I'll draw a winner on Monday night and post out next week (maybe with a couple of little treats added in).

I promise not to leave it so long next time.
Mmmmmwwwahhhh!  Love ya!

I love the little 'Old Lady' tin. Thankfully that mag is sold here (and I've got them all so far) so I can leave it up for someone else to have a chance (not that I think I'd get so lucky as to win 2 in a row from you :)

I love the look of that quilting in no time, I'm the same, the size of quilting projects scares me too, but small projects look like fun - I'm going to order it from my library

Oh and any chance you could pop me in the hat for the free magazine too please?

I have this book too, I love it! I like to have a good look through it when I need a little inspiration and I always end up brimming with ideas. The author has another which is equally as good - Sewing in No Time. I'd definitely recommend them both - beginner or not!

P.S i also got my Moo cards! Will be posting about them next week. Thank you so much for sharing the discount code x

FREE MAGAZINE! We don't get too many handmade mags in Singapore. I could easily get Japanese mags tho'. And I LOVE, LOVE the metal tin. In primary one, I had a really cool English teacher who believed that every child should know all the nursery rhymes in the world. Her lessons were the funnest because we just recite the rhymes at the top of our voices. Best days of my life.

Oh crumbs, you seem to have a lot more (and far more beautifully wrapped) parcels for your swap that I managed! Perhaps I just squished mine more to get them into the jiffy bag?

Hope you're enjoying all your seaside sandwiches today :)

Glad you're back. You look like you've been a busy bee. Going to pop to the shop and see if can pick up that mag it looks very interesting and I'm always looking for something new to make.
If you like patchwork quilting there is another good book to have a look at called Patchwork Puzzle Balls by Jinny Beyer. There are beginner and advanced projects inside and they are quick to do, great for kids too.
