Craft Fair Fun

Friday was the Creative Crafts for Christmas Fair at Newcastle. I had the best time 6 solid hours shopping and crafting with my lovely friend.

Beautiful stalls full of wonderful fabrics:
Rows and rows of sparkly beads:

Workshop Areas where we sat and crafted:

We only did one workshop this time, box making, this was really enjoyable and I was suprised at how easy it was within the hour we made these three boxes / pouches ~ I think these will be ideal for presenting handmade Christmas Presents:

In the middle or the Arena was a Victorian Knitted Christmas Display, everything here was knitted, it was amazing:

Full size knitted Santa and Sleigh:

Full knitted fireplace, knitted coal!!:

Knitted curtains, and a knitted pot plant:

A knitted clock:

Now onto my haul, these may not look terribly exciting but I bought a few storage boxes to get my bits and bobs organised and I love this one:

I bought some card and accessories to make some of these boxes and some beautiful local jams and sauces handmade by Jean (this is the best Lemon Curd I have had):

A pile of fat quarters in some lovely fabrics:

Then a pile of beads, findings and chain, this should keep me going for a bit:

I love these, the red beads look amazing in real life, like red velvet:
Some pendants, I will keep one of these for myself:

So there you go, a full on exhausting day ~ I had planned to blog it yesterday but spent hours sorthing out my stash, clearing out and getting organised. Whilst organising I pulled out all my WIP and decided to tackle it head on, I will not start anything new I said until it is finished!!

So, I did finish one cushion I have been dying to do, and then started making rings from my new beads, they are just all new and shiny I couldn't resist!! I will show you later in the week my poor blog will choke with all the photos today!

~ ♥ Back Soon ♥ ~

Oh, I'm so jealous. We never have anything like this in Singapore. The closest we have is a shop called Spotlight which is hideously expensive! I love the fat quarters you bought.

omg that looks like my idea of heaven !!!

I think that you were very restrained! I will hold you to finishing all your WIP's, as I know that I am just the world's worst culprit. Why is it that starting a project is so much more appealing than finishing another?xxx

Definately the sort of place where a fortune could be spent - so many things all so tempting :)

Love all the knitted stuff - brilliant idea.

My WIP is slowly going down - I plan to have a finishing off month in the new year ;)

Some of that fabric is just gorgeous. A woman could be sorely tempted with that many pretties about. xxx
PS Congrats on the Barry M win!!

How brilliant are all those knitted displays, I always believed that anything could be knitted if there was the will to do it. And such beautiful fabrics too.............sounds like you had a fabulous day out.

Good golly did you take a tesco shopping trolley to carry your buys home? My credit card is crying at the thought of it. I'm going to the ICHF creative stitches and hobby craft show at the SECC in about 10days but it's always disappointing too busy and far too small. I think next year I'll come to Newcastle as it looks like you had a ball..

Wow! What a great haul! The fabrics and beads are gorgeous, I could really do with some more storage too! I'm amazed at the knitted display, it looks fantastic. I wonder how long and how many people it took to knit! :) x

Eek, such delicious stuff! I'm already saving my pennies for my trip to Harrogate in November. I can sense it'll be an expensive day out!

The knitted room is amazing and must have taken AGES to produce.

Those shows are fab. I usually go to the one in Glasgow but its my shops first birthday that weekend so we are celebrating.
Those boxes look great and will be the perfect add on to handmade gifts.
Looks like you got a terrific haul. Love the paisley print fabric, it's my absolute favourite pattern. x
