Makes from Patterns

I'm a flitter ~ that is to say I flit from one thing to the next, sometimes not always completing the last thing.  These last few weeks I've been making for my swaps and for customers so have had things I 'had' to get on with.
Then, that was all done and I though, right what next? First a tidy up. I didn't even get the coffee table cleared when I spied these two books and thought I should have a go at something from these really so housework be gone, I got the needles and the sewing machine out!

This little pin cushion is something I have been thinking about making ever since I got this book, I have piles of Cath Kidston cotton ready cut to make a patchwork cushion and I liberated some for this little project.

I can honestly say it took about half an hour to make start to finish it was so simple and it's quite sweet.

The next project was a little knit from my flowers book.  I pour through this book like it was a magazine but have yet to make much from it.  I love poppies and thought this might be nice to make as a brooch and perhaps make a few to sell nearer Armistice Day for charity?

Just a thought...

As I was in the, 'follow a pattern mood' I spied this over on Jane's blog:

Isn't it sweet, I could see a range of uses for this immediately and had to get my hands on the pattern.

I make this following the pattern to the letter and let me tell you it worked a treat!
The fabric sizes are quite small you can make one of these from two contrasting fat quarters with plenty to spare.
I've been looking for a use for this Michael Miller Script Fabric for a while now.

It's made me pull all my fat quarters out looking for pouch combinations.

Totally reversibe,

Not a raw edge in sight!
I intend to use mine as a makeup bag, but I can see me making lots of these.  Wouldn't they make great little bridesmaid and bridal bags?
Thanks Jane x

In other news the lovely Heather introduced me to Pintrest, oh dear it's amazing and very addictive pop over and have a look see, if you need an invite give me a shout.
