Well on one of my many charity shop scours I came across the sweetest little coffee set, 6 little cups and 6 little saucers in the sweetest range of colours, all for the tiny sum of £1.99. The sales assistant and I carefully wrapped each one up in newspaper and I handed over my dosh! Within 3 feet of the counter I dropped the bloody lot, still don't know how and this is what remains :0( I know they were less than £2 but I loved them.
Just look how dinky they are next to my Cath Mug...
... RIPieces Pink Lemon and Orange little cups and saucers... *gently weeps*
On the plus side though I have finally won a little family battle!
See this monstrosity, well it's a rather expensive electric Baby Grand Piano belonging to my beloved husband...
... yes it lives in my lounge! I don't hate it per se, the only tune I get out of it is when I lean on the keys when I dust the bloody thing each week. But it is a proper eyesore, not sure if you can tell but it's huge and it takes up a big corner of my lounge (please pretend not to notice the clothes I pile up on it waiting to be taken upstairs).
Well, now it's gone! Woo Hoo, it's been moved upstairs to the attic room, still available to play but out of my sight. It's taken almost 10 years to get shot of it :0)
Now I have a big corner to play with and it's quite exciting, not sure how it will end up but I'm thinking a glass fronted vintage cabinet stuffed with old china and a cute little chair?
I found my cute little chair on Saturday!
I know it's a little grubby (even after lots of cleaning by me) but I love it's shape and it's really comfortable, it's by the Thomas Glenister Company.
There is a good chance I will re-cover it in something yummy and change the colour of those legs but for now it's making me smile in a piano shaped hole in my lounge.
In other news, have you seen this?
Yes it's Advent Swap Time!
I didn't join in last year as I already had too many commitments but I am determined not to miss out this year.
Could you fancy it, have you joined ~ pop over to LaaLaa's and see what it's all about.
~ ♥ Back Soon ♥ ~

Shame about dropping your new china. :-(
Well done on getting the piano moved...wish we had an attic room!
Cute little chair, will look forward to see what you are doing with the corner.
Sorry about your little accident they are so cute these ickle cups and saucers and such pretty colours. How great to get a corner back in your room :) the chair is also great and can't wait to see what you decide to do with it :)
Bee happy x

Lovely finds! I love the chair. It will look great in the space you've created. xx
What a shame about those teeny cups, it sounds just the kind of thing I'd do.
I love your new chair and yes, a painted glazed cabinet would fit in that space a treat. x
i can see you making that little space in the corner superly lovely with a cabinet next to that great find of a chair- i have one similar it belonged to my twinnys partner's gran- its in an orange pattern , very retro but not very me- so looking for a some cheapy but pretty fabric to cover it ;0)x love the cups- cute!! xx
Sorry to hear about the cups and saucers. I seem to remember my mum did something similar in a charity shop - bought a set of lovely china plates and promptly dropped them (I think while she was still in the shop), but I don't think any of hers survived. Must be something about the excitement of getting a bargain!
I can understand you wanting to reclaim some space in your living room, but I'm also a teensy bit jealous, as I'd love a piano! Not that I can really play, but if I had one I could practice ;-)
Oh no, poor you about the cups and saucers but well done you on getting shot of the piano upstairs. I'm looking forward to finding a new home for my daughter's keyboard which she has given up playing and which is taking up too much room in our lounge.
You must be gutted about the cups!! But your chair is lovely so that is some consolation :) Look forward to seeing what you do with it x
WELL DONE ON GRABBING YOURSELF A CORNER! MY HOUSE IS SO FULL THAT I WOULD BE OVER THE MOON IF I EVER FOUND A BIT OF SPACE. THOSE CUPS ARE GORGEOUS - CRASH!
Your little cups, what a shame! But did you save the pieces? You could make a little memorial mosaic. Love the chair xxx
The little cups are really cute, such a shame you lost some :-(
Great chair! xx
What a shame about your cups Hun but well done on your piano battle. I'm glad to hear it's not just me who places random piles of clothes on furniture to be moved upstairs!! Xx
The chair has so much potential.
What a shame about the cups...its usually my DH who breaks my favourite china....
