Sunny days knitting and sewing...

Isn't it just glorious here in the UK at the minute. I've had the delight of knitting and sewing outside on the patio for the first time this year.

Today involved a boot sale, I grabbed a few more Ladybird books which make me squeal and some vintage linens and crochet delights.


This tablecloth has a rip in one corner, such a shame as it is otherwise perfect ... I see cushions.


Following my loopy scarf last week I knitted a couple of these up this weekend, Rico Can Can in the Partie colourway. Not quite sure what I'm thinking knitting scarves in Spring but they will keep until Winter I guess, they are more lightweight than a 'proper' winter scarf too so will probably come in useful through our wet and windy summer.

The colours just make me smile.

On a totally unrelated subject I found these last week in B&M Bargains and thought I would share them with you.
They are right up my street, I just love this typeface, and as they were from B&M they were very reasonable £2.99 for the placemats , £1.99 for the coasters and less than £1 for the mug!

I just love em!

Well lovely people it's now been one whole year since I started my little blog, and I can honestly say I have just had the best time!

I started this blog as a place for me to record my little crafty makes and I had never anticipated the places this blog would take me.

I have dabbled in crafts I had always thought were beyond me (Crochet I am talking about you), have received the greatest advice and encouragement and have made some great likeminded friends along the way.

Nothing's quite ready...

I've not got much to show this week.

I am half way through a scarf and 7/8 of the way through a crochet cushion.

I've not had much free time this week with one thing and another but I have managed to make a few more candles

(it's a little distraction from making cushions!).

I have made a couple of little bits but I can't show them yet as they are gifts for Birthday Swaps and I am also preparing for the Easter Swap organised by Hookin' with LaaLaa so I am gathering and making things for that.

I did manage to knock up a little pair of earrings for my Knitting Guru Lynda;

On the subject of Lynda I received more lovely gifts in the post from her this week, just because (arent they the best sort of gifts?) want to see what I got...

I am now the proud owner of this lovely little cross stitch and felt mirror pouch for my handbag.

It's just cute as butter and far too good to get slung into my bag and lost in the morass so it's now living on my shelf of messy wonderfulness in the lounge.

These little beauties look too good to use, but I have had a stressful week at work and I do love a soothing bath; how beautiful would it be to soak with these...

... I bet I drift off.

~ ♥ Mothers Day Makes ♥~

~ ♥ Happy Mothers Day to all you Mothers out there, especially to mine ♥~

As I took the handmade pledge last year I made most of my Mothers Day Gifts.

First up is the RICO loopy scarf I knitted, this was quite fiddly but I like the effect.
Look at the pile once it was finished, it looks like a pile of fishing nets in need of detangling!

There was enough wool for one thick scarf (cast on 7 stitches) and one thin scarf (cast on 2 stitches).

I bought the wool at the fair last Friday but it's from www.blacksheepwools.com.

Remember the fugly fabric I made Mum's heat pad cover from; well I quilted it and made her a glasses case from the same stuff, it's an 8 inch nightmare, with freaky buttons, I know she will adore it. I just can't bear to post photos of that fabric again!

I made her a little candle too. I didn't use one of my vintage teacups due to the fact that she changes the colour scheme in her lounge like normal people change their socks, so I opted for the only neutral container I had which was this little crystal pot I got from the charity shop for 50p yesterday. The scent is Clean Linen, which smells divine!


I also bought her some flowers too as she loves them, and she's worth it!

I got breakfast in bed this morning made by my little one (assisted by my husband), bless him.


He also stole a daff from our garden fresh with dew, but I had to forgive him :)


Lunch was made for me today and this afternoon we went to the local bootsale and I hit the vintage teacup motherlode, and got some amazing fabric too, I'll show you in the week when I get them photographed.

Oh I almost forgot; here is my little 'Sleepy Ewe' finally finished from the slipwork workshop I took last Friday. Lots of little black french knots on black felt = sore eyes!
You can't really tell from the photo but he is only about 2" long.

He is sweet though.

All the products in my shop are supplied by 'Kandipandi' and unless stated are made by hand in my home. The contract of sale is between you' The Customer' and me 'Kandipandi'.  

With respect I may change the terms and conditions and also the price without prior notification. The price quoted at the time of purchase will be the price paid. Please note that pictures are a representation of the products I sell and purely by the nature of the product they may appear slightly different, although the contents will be the same.

 
Postage~ I intend to post out all goods within 3 working days of payment (excluding Weekends and public holidays), but where possible I will post as soon as possible.  If you require an item by a specific date please let me know and I will give it special attention.

 
Information ~ I will at all times try to be as accurate as possible in my product description and size specifications to the extent permitted by applicable law, however, I do not guarantee that the product descriptions, colours or other content available on the shop are accurate, complete, reliable, current or error-free. Miniature Disasters and Minor Catastrophes

After a particularly stressful week I came home to this yesterday,

the wind has been 'blowing a hooligan' as we say and my poor tramampoline (it's what the kids call it) took off and squished my lovely willow fence. It's going to take many hours digging posts out and fixing, maybe next weekend!

Luckily to cheer myself up; I had taken today off work and my lovely friend and I hot footed it to the Metro Arena in Newcastle to the Pins and Needles craft show; it was fab!!
We spent many hours traipsing up and down the aisles and spent a small fortune on beautiful treats, our bags were groaning with goodies and we could barely carry it all towards the end.
I'll not bore you with it all (and some of it is for pressies) but here is a small selection of the beauties I got.

There was a quilting exhibition (no photos allowed) and an exhibition of masterpieces in wool and fabric (photos allowed), check these out, the detail was just incredible.

We took a needlecraft workshop at lunchtime to make a little 'Sleepy Ewe' using a stumpwork technique called a Slip. It involves lots of french knots and they take ages so it's not anywhere near done, I'll finish it this weekend and show you, it's so sweet!

I have made a few more candles this week. I made one for my Mum for Mother's Day and a couple for an order for a friend.

I ordered some more scents, one of which is Baby Powder, this smells of babies bums, yum yum!

I am awaiting delivery of packing boxes but once they arrive I will be able to post out to those that have asked for them I will be in touch soon if you are still interested.

You know how busy I have been, and you know I have a cushion fetish, well I found this delight in Pene's shop on Etsy, it's made from Cath Kidston fabric and I fell in love with it.

As I rushed to her shop to snaffle it up, those beautiful handmade cards also fell into my shopping bag, but they were just too lovley to leave behind. If you have not seen Pene's lovely makes pop over and have a look she has a 15% discount running until Easter Monday, details here.
