Nothing's quite ready...

I've not got much to show this week.

I am half way through a scarf and 7/8 of the way through a crochet cushion.

I've not had much free time this week with one thing and another but I have managed to make a few more candles

(it's a little distraction from making cushions!).

I have made a couple of little bits but I can't show them yet as they are gifts for Birthday Swaps and I am also preparing for the Easter Swap organised by Hookin' with LaaLaa so I am gathering and making things for that.

I did manage to knock up a little pair of earrings for my Knitting Guru Lynda;

On the subject of Lynda I received more lovely gifts in the post from her this week, just because (arent they the best sort of gifts?) want to see what I got...

A wonderful stash of unusual knitting magazines from the USA with some fab patterns and ideas, I won't show you all the ones I love, so here are just a few of the treasures within the pages,

I am now the proud owner of this lovely little cross stitch and felt mirror pouch for my handbag.

It's just cute as butter and far too good to get slung into my bag and lost in the morass so it's now living on my shelf of messy wonderfulness in the lounge.

These little beauties look too good to use, but I have had a stressful week at work and I do love a soothing bath; how beautiful would it be to soak with these...

... I bet I drift off.

Lovely Likeminded Friends

On Saturday I received a wonderful parcel of goodies from my lovely friend Lynda ~ Hookin' with LaaLaa. Lynda has been an inspiration in my knitting and crochet attempts and she has kindly passed on lots of wooly themed magazines and books.

This parcel was a dream, it arrived on Saturday morning and I spent a few hours in my dressing gown pouring through it all, only to get them all back out later in the day for another couple of hours ~ happiness!

There were some knitting needles and bits and bobs included which were a welcome addition to my meagre collection; and there was this purse frame ~ I shall look upon this as a challenge and make another knitted purse!

Pouring through these magazines here are some of the wonderful things that immediately jumped out at me as things I want to make;

My son Thomas has requested that I quite urgently make him some Bees, he needs them apparently!

I am not confident enough to attempt clothing, but as soon as I am I do fancy this jumper:

I won't be attempting this one but when the time comes I would love to go out in style in this knitted coffin! It's made from sturdy carboard (well it would have to be or it would sag) and covered in knitting, very eco friendly too!

Isn't blogging just great for bringing likeminded people together ~ thanks again Lynda x

Happy New Year lovely ladies ~ did you celebrate in style, or did New Year just creep in and sit at the back. However you did it, it's here and it's time to shake ourselves off, make a few resolutions, give thanks for the good bits, of which blogging was one of mine.

Huge thanks to you all for following, commenting and encouraging my crafty makes.

Over the last few weeks I have recieved some fab bits and bobs from some lovely blogging ladies and wanted to share them with you.

Here we have some lovely pay it forward gifts from Crafty Helen at Home (can't link as Helen has since deleted her blog), that I had signed up to earlier this year, I had forgotten all about this so this was a real suprise:

After a tough day at work I came home to this one night not long ago, I was not expecting anything so was really suprised to find this;

A beautifully wrapped gift from the lovely Sue, this was a thank you gift and just look what was inside;

A most lovely vintage patchwork cushion, I adore it and it is currently pride of place on my bed, as if that was not enough there was also a lovely lavender heart in there too which is on my bedpost.

Thank you so much Sue this arrived just at the right time when I needed it most, isn't it funny how that happens?

You remember the Tilda book I won from Lynda, well she went mad and sent me extra gifts, she forgot to add one and sent it later and I love it loads and wanted to show you, its a beautiful brooch:

I received this lovely thank you gift from the beautiful Dana, look at the tilda goodies, cutest baby buttons, fab metal charms and the beautiful hand drawn card from Dana's little girl;

Thanks again Dana x I have already used all of these in one form or another I will post pics soon.

I also received these beautiful tiles from the clever and talented Crafty Ju Ju, she recently started making these tiles and is now obsessed, pop over and have a look at her blog, she sells these goodies, don't they look right at home on my fridge?
