Little Felty Makes

This weekend I had planned to get cracking making some cushions but I got distracted with felt.  I seem to have a little tattoo thing going on at the moment and found myself making these brooches:

They are sweet, I'm thinking of making  Kandi Tattoo one for my coat.

I moved on from tattoos to pastel pinks with delicate cupcake fabric and a lovely egyptian paisley pattern fabric,

then back to good old blighty with a couple of union jacks!

I do love to sit and mess on with felt it's relatively easy to work with and it's noiseless, so I can sit and sew whilst catching up with my soaps.

That was yesterday, this morning I have spend a wonderful couple of hours with my bestest friend at Tynemouth Railway Station and have picked up some fantastic handmande goodies.  Many are earmarked for gifts so I can't really show you them but I can show you these peonies I bought myself,

I adore peonies they are so feminine and look so delicate.

If you are within easy reach of the North East you really must visit Tynemouth Station Market; every weekend it's brimming with all the sort of things us bloggers love, I tried to get a couple of photos but there were so many people there I gave in!

I do love the North East and would like to give a little mention to another handmade local lass, lovely Laura who is the Vintage Princess behind the lovely Vintage Princess Jewellery in Durham City. She is currently selling bracelets with all the profits going to the Samaritans, pop over and have a little look she has some delightful little creations in her shop.

Oh before I forget our Lynda at Hookin' with Laa Laa has just organised a new swap, pop over and have a look and get signed up, I'm looking forward to it ~ button is in my sidebar.

Well off to tackle the ironing ~ oh the joy!

Wonderful Bloggy Gifts and a bit of a whine...

Can I start off with apologies for being a bad blogger this past couple of weeks. Things have been insane busy at work, I am contracted to work 9-5 Mon - Fri, but recently have been doing 7am-10pm and working weekends too as things are just so very busy at the minute.

There are difficult times in my industry at the moment (Construction) and we are all having to pull together to keep things going, I don't mind too much; it's my liveliehood I'm working for. I know one day there will be an end to it and this coming week will see a little bit of respite.
My washing is piling up and in danger of crushing someone, I didn't have time to do any food shopping or even order it online, so I have been feeding the kids on crap and to top it all off I don't have time to knit or sew or crochet to spend hours reading and commenting on all your lovely blogs, and I have missed you all.
So this weekend I will spend time catching up on everything and get back to normality soon I hope.

On a brighter note, I took part in the spread the bloggy love swap over on lovely Jackie's Blog and my parcel arrived on Thursday night. I have since opened it and was just delighted with the treasures that I found inside.

I was paired up with the lovely Jille from Love to Craft who has such similar tastes to mine, everthing I opened was a delight and such a welcome end to a very busy exhausting week ~ thanks so much Jille!

Feast your eyes on these delights:

I just love the tag on these hearts...

Wasn't I a lucky girl?

I did prepare for my swap a while ago and have been knitting and sewing and painting bits to send off but I have been waiting for delivery of one last thing before sending it all off, and it's now all packaged up and ready to go.

Big thanks have to go to Jille for the wonderful goodies and to Jackie and little miss for organising it all!

Spread the Bloggy Love

Just wanted to pop in to share this with you.
The lovely Jackie of Sew Special Bears is organising a swap based around Valentines day. The idea is that things are a little lacklustre following Christmas and New Year celebrations and this is just a little something to look forward to; to spread the love!

Pop over and have a look at Jackie's blog, she explains it all there, it is open until the 7th Jan so join in if you fancy it.

Secret Santa Swap and Free Quiche

Have you heard about the Secret Santa Swap over at Hookin' with LaaLaa?
The idea is that LaaLaa sends out a questionnaire to us all and then she pairs us up with someone secretly. You check out your partner's blog and get to know her likes and dislikes etc. In time for Christmas you send a parcel containing at least five gifts for your partner to open on Christmas day. Isn't that a great idea?

I love making and receiving handmade items but not everyone does, have you ever given a gift you have put much thought and time into only to have someone turn their nose up at it? Well I have and it's nice to give to someone that you know will appreciate it, that's us lot!

Pop over and sign up if you fancy it, it's open until the 15th October so you have 10 days still to join.

Another quick Slimming World Meal to show you:

Slimming World Cheese Pie

Ingredients: 1 packet cheese & broccoli Pasta in Sauce

1 packet Cheese & Onion Smash

1 Medium Onion

3 Eggs

1 Tub Quark

Salt & Pepper

Lean bacon

Tomato

Directions; throw all ingredients in a bowl and mix together with boiling water until a cake like consistency.

Pour into a quiche dish and bake in the oven Gas mark 4 or 180 degrees for 35-40 mins.

Add sliced tomatoes to the top.

Free on Green and Extra Easy. This was rather nice but a bit stodgy, it's not something I could eat lots of, but you could if you had the mind to. I ate mine with a heap of beetroot, Yum!
