Bag of Bras

I think it might be the time of year but I am working my way round my house decorating and clearing out, my poor hubbie keeps looking at me sideways with a scared expression and asking if I am nesting ~ well no that's long gone I'm afraid.
I am having new carpets fitted at the weekend and needed to clear the lounge but somehow I ended up clearing the bedroom??
I went through my drawers and came across a pile of bras that are almost brand new that either don't fit or don't do me any favours! I gathered them up to send on to Breast Talk ~ have you heard of them.

They are particularly in need of rather big or rather small bras ~ I was able to help here, that pink one on the top fits my head just as well as my boob :)
Instead of binning your old bras; donate them to the BreastTalk.co.uk Bra Appeal! Send them your old bras and they use them to generate cash for breast cancer research.
They raise money for breast cancer research by giving the bras to BCR Global Textiles. BCR sell them to traders in third world countries to which helps support and supply their own local economy.

You can read more about it on their site but if you have bra's going spare
post your (clean) bras to:

  6. Fab idea! I'm in awe of that red brassiere, fancy having a bra that doubles up as a hat, you lucky woman.
I haven't got any worthy bras to donate but I'll make an effort to find some at tomorrow's jumble sale. xxx

  7. That is so bizarre cos I sorted my drawers at the weekend and put a mountain of bras to one side for the next time one of those charity bags comes through the door. This is a much more relevant cause and just had a peek at their site, they sell new bras in my size yipee (bras with beach ball cups are so hard to come by!!)

  8. Thanks for the info! I also have a whole collection of hats looking for homes! Too nice to chuck (most worn only a handful of times) but didn't think the charity shops would want them and too embarrased to put my crash helmets on display at a car boot!

  9. That was well timed! I was just thinking I need to weed out some bras that haven't fitted me for ages...but are hardly worn and are very lovely! And there you are...with the solution! You're a star Kandi! Lots of love, Amanda xxx Are you impressed that I managed to not make any booby jokes???

  14. Hm.. I think I'd rather just buy some new ones and send them those, I'm not sure if they'd want my real bras :P haha! One time I read in Vogue and interview with a woman who said that a woman should handwash her bras everyday.. I was like 'what?!' I don't even cook dinner everyday! Crazy stuff! So I'm sure I'm not of those who take the best care of their bras.. :P

  18. Hadn't heard of that. What a very good idea, such a worthy cause. Can't help on the large size but do have a few that are too small and hardly worn. Will get on to that. x
