I am into my little hexies at the minute, remember the coaster I made, well I just love the look of these once they are sewn together. I made two strawberry hexie flowers and thought I could make them into a little pouch. I cut a little lining for it and grabbed a zip.
For the top two hexies on each side I had to add a hexie to the back to make the finish right,
I added the inside pouch and slip stitched it to the top, I blanket stitched all round the remaining sides and added a little zip pull ( I will show that in more detail in my next post).
I made a miniature little needle case from my little 1" hexies I added some cottons, a tape measure.
I went on to make a few more little needle cases as I thought they were quite cute!

That's fantastic - you are so talented. Looking at your fab makes with hexies has got me wanting to try some, but I think it will have to be added to my ever growing list of things I want to make and do! xxx
ReplyDeleteOh Kandi, I adore the little pin case. I may have to try making one myself, although it won't be half as pretty. You really are an inspiration. xxx
ReplyDeleteOMG that's so adorable!! I love the fabrics!
ReplyDeleteLovely hexie usage- especially the pouch
ReplyDeleteoh you are so clever Kandi. I just love the fabric x x
ReplyDeleteYou are very clever - what a brilliant idea :)
ReplyDeleteOoo how lovely does that look!! How do you make hexies? Is it all hand sewing or with your machine? Hexies and quilting totally confuse me!! What a fab idea though!! xxx
ReplyDeleteYou do them by hand Pootle. Have a look at Texas freckles blog http://www.texasfreckles.com/2010/03/hexagon-charm-quilt-piece-along.html, I got the template from there, you use little scraps of cloth and sew them round the papers, then take the papers ont once you have sewn them together. Its very addictive!
ReplyDeleteKandi x
Really nice make, Popping over to the link to see how to make them. Thank you. x
ReplyDeleteSuch cute makes! Love the little strawberry case!
ReplyDeleteEek, the cuteness! Lovely fabric and what a useful little creation it turned into.
ReplyDeleteps - I think the film has already been on at Tyneside but ask them nicely and it might get put on again. If not, it's out on dvd in October. I reckon you'll love it :)
That is wonderful! Such a great idea xx
ReplyDeleteHi Kandi .... I am a Texas Freckles too! Very addictive don't you think? Your idea of the sewing kit is just the Bee's Knees! How did you think it up?? I don't think I could put a zip in but perhaps I could do a loop and button, but your little needle cases and absolutely the cutest yet!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! How inspiring you are :0)
Have a lovely day,
